Vulnerability: Why is it so important?

Two months ago I was having a lot of trouble sleeping. I’d sit in bed with my eyes closed for hours before my mind slowed and drifted to sleep. What was scarier than not sleeping were the thoughts and feelings of anxiousness that would run through my head while lying there. And in the middle of all those thoughts I felt totally alone. No one is up in the middle of the night in my home, not even the dog. If you know me personally you may be thinking, “Liz started a blog?”…”Since when did she want to do this?”…”I didn’t even know she liked writing.” …”Why didn’t she tell me she was working on this?” Well…I think I can sum up a response to those thoughts in one word…fear. Yes, fear is why it took me almost two years to start this and fear is also why I didn’t tell some of you about it.
